Privacy Policy

Information you give us directly

• Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (never stored in plain text). Accounts are currently used mainly for content administration; a broader public membership area is planned for the future, and this policy will be updated when that launches.
• Heritage Store: the Store currently lets you browse products and build a cart, but does not yet process payments. If you place an order once checkout is live, we will collect billing name, shipping address (for physical items), and order details — and this section will be updated to name our payment processor and describe how card data is handled before that feature goes live.
• Contact and forms: anything you submit through a contact method or newsletter signup — typically your name and email address.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, links clicked, search terms entered, and general, non-identifying device/browser information, collected in aggregate through our analytics tool (see Section 4).
• Local storage: used to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and keep items in your Heritage Store cart between pages. See Section 4 for details.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect audio recordings of you. The pronunciation feature uses your device's own built-in text-to-speech (browser speechSynthesis) — that audio is generated and played entirely on your device and is never sent to us.

We use the information above to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and its features (search, language switching, accounts, cart).
• Process and fulfil Heritage Store orders, once checkout is live, including payment confirmation and customer-service follow-up.
• Personalize your experience (for example, remembering your chosen language).
• Send account-related messages (such as password resets) and, only if you opt in, newsletter or product updates.
• Monitor, improve, and troubleshoot the Site, and understand in aggregate which content is most useful to visitors, using our analytics tool.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: companies that help us run the Site — for example, our backend and authentication provider, Supabase, our hosting provider, and our analytics tool, Plausible (see Section 4) — who are only permitted to use your data to provide that service to us.
• Legal reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Site, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: if the Site is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, with notice to you.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.

Local storage and essential functionality. We use your browser's local storage (a small amount of data kept on your device, similar to a cookie) to keep you signed in, remember items in your Heritage cart, and remember your language selection. This is strictly necessary for the Site to function and does not identify you personally.

Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are popular and which searches people run. Plausible is privacy-first by design: it does not use cookies, does not collect or store any personal data or IP addresses, and cannot be used to track you individually or across other websites. Because of this, we don't show a cookie-consent banner — there's nothing to consent to. If we ever add a tool that does use tracking cookies (for example, for advertising), we will update this section and add a consent option before that tool loads for visitors in regions that require it.

You can control or delete local storage and any cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential local storage may prevent parts of the Site — such as the cart or sign-in — from working correctly.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, for as long as your account is active, or as required to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting obligations (such as order records for tax purposes, once the Store processes real orders). You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and industry-standard authentication practices through our backend provider, Supabase. Once the Heritage Store processes real payments, card data will be handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor and will never be stored on our own servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in those emails).
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

The Site is intended for a general audience, including educational use by families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your country) without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at sanatan.sindhu1008@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.

The Site is accessible worldwide and offered in multiple languages (English, Hindi, Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic). Sanatan Sindhu is operated from India, so if you access the Site from outside India, your information may be transferred to and processed in India, which may have different data protection laws than your own country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you (for example, by email or a notice on the Site).
