During the exile of the Pandavas, Arjuna ascended the freezing heights of the Himalayas to perform intense penance to please , seeking the legendary Pashupatastra weapon. Standing on one leg, his single-minded focus generated a powerful aura of heat. To test his warrior discipline and dissolve his remaining pride, assumed the form of a Kirata—a rugged mountain hunter—accompanied by Goddess as a tribal woman.
