Swaminarayan Sampradāya
स्वामिनारायण सम्प्रदायSvāminārāyaṇaFounder / origin — Bhagwān Swāminārāyaṇ (1781–1830)
Devotion to Puruṣottama Nārāyaṇa; strict ethical discipline; service and community-building.
The Swaminarayan tradition arose in early nineteenth-century Gujarat around Bhagwān Swāminārāyaṇ, who reorganised Vaiṣṇava devotion around strict codes of conduct, service, and social uplift. Modern branches — BAPS, Vadtal, Ahmedabad — sustain a vast temple and educational network across the diaspora and continue Rāmānuja's Viśiṣṭādvaita philosophical lineage.
