Gautama Buddha

Buddha

Born Siddhārtha Gautama of the Śākya clan, he renounced his kingdom in search of the end of suffering, attained bodhi under the pipal tree at Bodh Gayā, and taught the Middle Way — the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.
