The Fallen Signet

As the earthly pastime of the Treta Yuga neared its cyclical end, Sri knew that Yama, the Lord of Death, was waiting to enter Ayodhya. However, Yama could not enter as long as the immortal stood guard at the royal gates. To distract his eternal protector, intentionally dropped his favorite gold signet ring into a tiny crack in the marble floor of the palace. He then turned to and requested, 'My dear friend, my ring has slipped into this crevice. Please retrieve it for me.'
